Pizza, pizza! Cincinnati company rolls out lockers for Little Caesars
A Cincinnati company that specializes in smart vending and locker machines is rolling out a new system to help Little Caesars Pizza customers get to their pies quicker.
Mason's Apex Supply Chain Technologies, working with Little Caesars, is rolling out the Pizza Portal, a heated self-serve order pickup station to allow take-out customers to skip the line.
It works like this: customers place a to-go order using Little Caesars' mobile app, employees prepare and cook the pizza and then load it into the Pizza Portal for the customer to pick up. The station is unlocked using a custom code sent to diners through the Little Caesars app.
It's not an entirely new concept for Apex. The company, which got its start making smart vending machines for a variety of industries that could, for instance, let an auto mechanic know when the supply of a certain part is running low, rolled out Ballpark Express with the Cincinnati Reds in 2017.
Ballpark Express allow fans to use the MLB Ballpark app to order and pay for concessions. The app lets them know then the order is ready, and they pick it up from an Apex station without having to wait in line.
Detroit-based Little Caesars has 17 locations in Greater Cincinnati.
