I was impressed with what you can do at home with a 3d printer or even start your own business mass producing and selling objects you make to friends, relatives, or through the mail or even out of a storefront. One of the advantages for a business. Say, someone orders something. You don't have to have it in stock. You only need the raw materials to build it. So, in the morning a customer orders something. You 3d print it during the day or overnight. And the customer picks up the object that afternoon or the next day. Amazing! 
       
       And the amount of different types of objects made from plastic or even powdered metal with lasers to fuse it could be almost without limit. The only limit likely is the imagination of the designer and the laws of physics.
