My personal concept about what enlightenment is wasn't what enlightenment really was when I was a teenager.
For example, I grew up a Mystical Christian Dualist. And even though that furthered my soul on it's path to enlightenment I didn't really understand what enlightenment was. Not only that in my late teens and early 20s all the parts of life that were clashing in my mind, emotions and life would surely snuff the very life out of me before I found out what enlightenment was.
However, I had a path and I followed that path to the best of my ability and it led me through many twists and turns towards a life I could stand to live which also was taking me to enlightenment. But, the only way I got to where I was going was by learning every step of the way something new.
Because the path I was on was only the start. As I traveled forwards God led me to many new paths that I had heard about but hadn't understood yet. So, this is something I don't think many people when young understand. For me, enlightenment was more about what I didn't know yet than what I did know. So, as I moved forwards being open to the new things I learned and implementing them in my life was actually more important than what I originally thought I knew.
So, for me, I reached goal after goal after goal moving forwards but it would have been impossible to understand any of it when I started. It was that each step each moment was a learning enlightening experience that never ends. Learning and enlightenment never ends. And that's the beauty of life. That's what enlightenment really is. Never ending wonder at all the new things that life also is all the time.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
