KING: Trump White House ushers in the normalization of dishonesty

Politics is a goldfish bowl. Things you might get away with in business, you are not going to get away in Politics (not for very long anyway). So, Trump has a lot to learn about the goldfish bowl he now resides in with his family. There will be eventually no secrets because in a free society there really can't be any in politics for more than a few weeks or years and then the shit hits the fan and careers are ruined often permanently. Obviously, Trump hasn't learned this lesson yet in U.S. politics.

Business even for billionaires is an entirely different story. Truth is often sacrificed as a way to get ahead or to get laid. But, politics is a blood sport and truth always prevails here in the U.S. one way or another, at least in regard to politicians. Because everyone who is a politician is constantly being investigated by someone, especially presidents. This always has been true in the past, likely is still true in the present and likely always will be also true into the future.
