It is becoming clear that the 15km-wide asteroid could not have hit a worse place on Earth

This makes it even more likely that this asteroid hit was planned specifically to wipe out all the larger dinosaurs to make earth ready (within a few years) for colonization by the survivors of Maldek that were likely the heads of government and military and their families from Maldek. Maldek is now the asteroid belt out past Mars.
