One report said that 500,000 American civilians in foreign Countries died during World war II
So, it appears that we lost more American Civilians during world war II overseas than we actually did soldiers which was in the neighborhood of 400,000 plus soldiers that actually died overseas during world war II. And there is reported to be 400,000 plus wounded U.S. soldiers but this does NOT include PTSD Soldiers but that wasn't a designation then. I think then they called it "Battle Fatigue" or "Walking Wounded" instead of what we call it now which is "Post Traumatic Stress Disorder".
