So, in traveling to a National Park expect places like Yosemite to see Black Bears that are smaller and much less lethal than a Grizzly Bear that you will find in Yellowstone or Glacier National park. But, the animal that kills and maims the most people yearly is the Buffalo or Bison of Teton National Park and Yellowstone National park. I haven't been to Glacier National park yet so I only know there are Grizzlies, Wolves and coyotes and mountain lions and Marmots and Wolverines there. But, remember there are ONLY 300 wolverine left alive in the wilderness anywhere in the U.S. now but also a wolverine is the most likely to attack you and not give up until you are dead also. So, avoid wolverines even though there are only 300 of them left so they can breed and keep going as a species living in the wilds in the U.S.
But, rockfall and tree fall and avalanches in the winter time in snow and all sorts of animals and chasms and cliffs and mountains you have to be careful of and you don't want to get lost so either know how to navigate by land marks or carry a GPS device that you don't drop in a river and have extra batteries for that you don't get wet in a downpour of rain or snow any time of year.
What you need to know about Grizzly bears is that they are very very territorial and so if you are in their hunting territory just remember they have fought other bears to have that specific hunting territory and if you are in their hunting territory they think you want the food there and they have to fight you for that territory. So, that's what's actually going on if you are attacked. It's not personal. They are just protecting their food from you eating it. That's all! This is how a grizzly or other bears like black bears actually think.
