This identifier gives (within 3 feet) exactly where on earth this photo was taken using longitude and latitude. It might also give the date and time it is taken as well. Since I have found no useful way to scrub this from digital images I don't share digital images I have taken online for this reason.
Though many people choose to share photos inside or outside of where they live, I figure with an international blog like this one that is not safe to do so I don't.
I think it is very unfortunate that this is true for everyone on earth who wants to keep themselves and their families safe from harm. Because sharing any digital photos (even inside) of where you live could one day cost you your life or the lives of your loved ones when you share these photos online.
Any hacker, Good, bad or indifferent could sell these photos with identifiers revealed to someone who wants you or your family dead or whatever their nefarious purpose is.
