While we were staying in Seattle a few days ago at the Marriott Waterfront we saw this ship anchored nearby the Waterfront right next to the Marriott then. But, it turns out that it hit a Growler Iceberg in Alaska, (luckily a small enough one not to sink the ship like the Titanic was sunk by a larger iceberg. But, it caused enough damage for the cruise to be cancelled.
A growler is generally a piece of ice that has broken off from a larger glacier or shelf ice, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). They are roughly the size of a truck or a grand piano and typically float less than three feet above the sea surface.6 hours ago
