170,000 houses have lost power as of 11:21Pm Wednesday night in California

The number of trees falling down or on power lines which knocks out power in northern California especially along the coast is basically uncountable so far. My own wife and son in law heard a large tree going down and crashing within a block or two of where my house is on the coast. However, it's likely not safe to go outside right now because more trees could come down. San Francisco and the surrounding area are saying: "Please don't go outside because of fallen trees or falling trees and power knocked to the ground in mud puddles that you might not see or understand what is happening and then you are gone.

1000 volts run along most telephone and power lines through neighborhoods. People 90% of the time cannot survive a 1000 volt shock of this nature. I actually have only met one person who has survived a 1000 volt shock and the only reason they survived is that their body contorted so much from the jolt of 1000 volts that their body jumped about 10 feet knocking the person unconscious for sometime in the rain before they woke up again. They were very lucky to survive such a jolt because most people don't.
