I think if you were serious about really wanting to know how many people died on earth you would (at the very least) have to take whatever figures governments have given us (worldwide) and multiply these figures by a factor of 5 or 10 to really know. And even then in some 3rd world countries where people are so hand to mouth food wise that this could be even more than that. In other words in some countries if you cannot work you might so debilitate yourself even after if you recover from Covid that you might die from not enough food and a compromised immune system during the month or so that all this took place. And people like this were not counted in any country because most of them never went to a doctor or clinic in the first place. When I saw pictures for example, I believe they were from Peru where people just died in the streets and locals put plastic or blankets over them until the government removed them. These kinds of poorer people around the world just died wherever they were before they saw ANY medical practitioners then in 2019 and 2020. They would not have been counted formally as Covid Deaths because they were not tested before they did. However, most people realized de facto what they had died from. And this has been and is too worldwide, especially in places like China right now where over 900 million people had Covid as of January 11th.
I was talking with a friend today who said that this might be good for China because now most people will be immune to Omicron variants there now if they don't die from it.
So, this is one of the good things. However, those dying from it are often in whose bodies that variants arise from and then they infect others with these variants somehow before they die from their newly formed variant in their body as it lays dying somewhere.
But, once again those who survive in China exposure to the latest omicron variants likely will be immune (at least from that variant they were exposed to for a few months time). So, whether China or here in the U.S. or elsewhere on earth the biggest fear is new variants that people need to prepare for potentially.
