Where I am on the coast it's supposed to get 35 sometime tonight but temperatures inland, for example, on a lot of farmland will be down to around 30 degrees Fahrenheit. When I woke up this morning it was 9 degrees in Lake Tahoe by 9 or 10 am then and 15 degrees in Mt. Shasta.
My friends are telling me that the road is still closed above Macbride Springs Campground and closed going up to Castle Lake too.
However, it looks like the groomed snow at Mt. Shasta Ski Park is open because they set off cannons and stuff to cause avalanches there so skiers (as long as they are on groomed Trails shouldn't die there.) But, the Cascades all down through the Sierras have just received so much snow that Avalanches are a problem throughout many west coast mountain ranges right now and might continue to be for several months.
