Here's a thought exercise:

If you visit or live near the beach anywhere the oceans (which are all interconnected so they all will rise the same level at the same time (except during storms or high tides they will be higher than the other parts of the ocean shores worldwide.

So, when you are at the beach or visiting the ocean beach anywhere on earth just imagine the water 40 feet higher than it presently is. This is one of the expectations this century for all the interconnected oceans of the world.

However, I wouldn't buy beach property unless it is over 50 to 100 feet above our present worldwide sea levels.

Also, another interesting thing is that 12,000 years ago sea level was 400 feet below what it is now, so basically you could easily walk from Asia to Alaska 12,000 years ago if you wanted to or even go by Dog Sled if you had one. Or you might also sail across the ocean in a ship if your culture built larger sailboats then.
