I have seen this before in the fall or winter where the tides go way way out on the beaches here. I looked down and saw seaweed and thought that it was detached and on the shore but looked more closely and it was still attached to the sand and just waiting for the water to come back in once again. There were children out looking at Sea anemones and touching all the sea wildlife so exposed. Even the birds were sort of wondering what to do with all the changes because the ocean was about 100 to 300 feet further out than normal during a low tide. I wandered among the rocks and beaches exposed so far out with our corgi and some children played with our dog. It was sunny today and at least 70 degrees when we went to the beach and it had been 73 to 76 degrees at our house about a mile inland from the beaches. However, often at night we can hear the Barking of the Sea Lions and the roaring of the waves especially during storms or high winds.
Very low tides today in the greater SF Bay area beaches.
