From Philosophy to Cultural Anthropology to psychology

It might be helpful to read this first if you haven't already: What do all religions have in common?

These were the transitions I experienced between 1971 and 1973 in my life. Philosophy brought me back from the brink of suicide and suicidal behavior from what had happened to me in the religion I was raised in. Then next after taking all the philosophy classes at college and getting an A in each of those classes I next studied: "The psychology of personal Growth and Development" which was a class that was very helpful to me. Also, I made a friend who became a girlfriend in this course and this helped a lot too.

Then because of what I learned in "The Psychology of Personal Growth and Development" I took a course in Anthropology and realized I was a natural Shaman.

The definition in my Cultural Anthropology text then in 1972 of what a Natural Shaman was was this: "A Natural Shaman is someone who has psychologically died but their body still lives and because of their psychological death they live in both the world of the living and the world of the dead at the same time. Because of this they can sometimes help heal others because of living in two worlds at the same time."

This was a perfect description of me because of whooping cough at 2 and the Archangels coming to save my life then a rock climbing accident and then "dying" each seizure I had at night from age 10 to 15 and waking up an hour or two later after the seizure with my father trying to stick a butter knife between my teeth so I wouldn't choke on my tongue and die. This was between 1958 and 1963. When I invited God to come live in my body so I wouldn't die at age 15 my seizures stopped instantly by the way. Because God moved into my body with me and has stayed ever since along with the Angels.

So, at age 22 learning that I was a "natural Shaman" made me realize that this was why I was also a natural healer too.

So, next I started to study to become a psychologist. But, then my live in girlfriend got pregnant and we got married and I had to go to work to support us after that.

But, I had brought myself from the land of the dead or dying back into the land of the living once again.

Also, I found my personal yoga (or spiritual discipline) was being a householder Yogi who works in the world starts businesses or buys businesses and supports their family and travels the world.

So, I found my calling in life in being a business man and family man like all my relatives on my father's side of the family since 1580 in Switzerland before they came to Philadelphia for religious freedom from being Protestants then around 1725 to Philadelphia from Zurich Switzerland.
