My first child, a boy born 1974 and now 51 years old was "Born Free"

What do I mean by this?

It means my first wife was young and idealistic and wanted to have only her and I there for her birth. Did this work out? Yes.

First we took a Lamaze class and learned how to dot his effectively. Then we practiced at home how to do this.

However, then when the time actually came there were many things neither of us were prepared for that we had to deal with.

The first thing was that my young wife then got tired at a certain point so I held her under the arms standing so she wasn't so exhausted as we tried to use gravity to help us like many humans and animals do to give birth.

However, at a certain point I got tired too and I said: "Why don't we move over to the bathroom where you can crown on the toilet which might be more similar to what your body is used to?"

So, we did this and when she crowned (baby appeared at entrance to womb) she slid off onto the floor.

Actually this worked out quite well then in 1974 because I had no idea at the time about the gush of amniotic fluid that comes out sort of like watery jello all over the floor of the bathroom an inch or two deep.

So, this actually saved our bedroom carpets maybe from either having them professionally cleaned or removed and replaced? Not sure.

but, this worked for us.

Then a month later we went back to the Lamaze Class and everyone completely lost it because of how we had handled all of this and were so successful.

However, all in all it was a very spiritual and amazing experience that my son was born Free!
