Where I live there are codes because of the affluent area I live in that prevent going solar here. However, if you live in an area that allows wind turbines and you have wind or that allows solar cells on your roof or even on your car or truck I would either get someone to install wind or solar or do it yourself. realgoods.com is one source of solar systems. type "solar energy" , "solar systems", or "wind power" or similar keywords into Google for systems available for purchase in your area of earth.
Probably the single most patriotic thing you can do as a fellow Citizen of Earth is to convert your home, business or vehicles to wind or solar power to sell back wherever possible your excess electricity to the grid or even go off the grid entirely if that is more useful for you.
All humans survival on earth depends upon just how fast this can be done. It is also the source of most useful new jobs on earth the next 100 years or more.
Oil will more and more only be used for making tires and plastics and nylon and the like. Burning oil is very counterproductive to the survival of life on earth. Besides, our descendants will need the oil to make plastics or there won't be plastic of any kind for future generations unless it is all recycled from now if we don't stop burning up all the oil now.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
