- If you read the above Article on the Chinese point of view, it is easy to see that China must not understand basic U.S. values of freedom of speech and freedom of choice and freedom of religion and of just how important those things are along with human rights to Americans. I think Chinese who have visited here or gone to school in college here or who have spent time here might better understand, but it is not about building trust on Taiwan and Tibet, it is about understanding that there are some American values that will never change. I have been watching college students and friends put, "Free Tibet" bumper stickers on their cars for 30 or 40 years now and that likely will never change. I think it is less about Tibet being a separate country from China now and more about allowing Tibetans to worship as they wish so Tibetan monks don't keep setting themselves on fire in protest. I think most Chinese must not understand how Americans feel and believe about basic Human Rights and how we will never change those very basic values.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
