quote from page 40 in the latest Time Magazine with Bill Clinton holding a globe on the cover:
Phones mean Freedom
Forget what you may have heard about a digital divide or worries that the world is splintering into "info have" and "info have nots". The fact is, technology fosters equality, and it's often the relatively cheap and mundane devices that do the most good. A 2010 U.N. study, for example, found that cell phones are one of the most effective advancements in history to lift people out of poverty."

I was reading in an article about Ray Kurzweil and it was said that, "A child in Africa with an IPhone now has access to more information everyday than President Clinton did when he was President of the United States. " This gives some perspective into just how far and how fast we have come and just how fast we are getting there. We are now moving at Light Speed. "Beam me up Scotty!"
Also, to denote how extreme this change is coming: in 2001 there were only 20 cellphones per 100 people on earth. As of 2011 there were 80 cellphones per 100 people on earth!
