The problem is the world is not peaceful. I think this might be the most important thing to say here.
My thought is that if any of the students had been carrying a gun maybe only 1 or 2 of them would have been shot if that student had just returned fire (or if College professors were allowed to have weapons they could have returned fire.
Here is the problem. Honest people would likely give up their guns if the government asked it of them. However, then shooters would still get guns because shooting people isn't a legal thing to do.
So, even if you took away all guns from the American people still these kinds of things would go on because "Only the Illegal actors" would have guns then.
Studies have shown that if an area is well armed, burglars and criminals tend to stay out when that becomes known by criminals. (Because they don't want to be shot while committing a burglary).
So, removing all guns from law abiding people will never be the answer that would be useful.
Look at the Middle East. More and more of these shootings are caused by sympathizers of ISIS and other terrorist groups.
In fact, before he began to shoot today he said, "What religion are you?" Then after they answered he began to shoot them. Think about it.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
