Staying Alive is ALWAYS refining your process

"Evolve or die Young"

This is a truism that I believe in.

So, looking for ways to change and evolve to survive whatever comes is a part of the genetics of those who have already made it though thousands to millions of years of evolution already.

Just staying the same often means individual extinction or family extinctions.

For example, learning where to be "for opportunities" is just as important as learning "Where NOT TO BE" for survival.

And over the years this changes too. So, for example, a neighborhood you grew up in was perfect and safe for you to live in as a child changes fast or slowly over time until you one day realize you are just "NOT SAFE" at all there anymore. And this can be quite disruptive to one's life especially if generations of you past, present and possibly future have grown up or potentially could grow up in this same home or home town.

But, it isn't just the location you choose to live that might not be safe, it could also be changing weather patterns. So, for example, people who just experienced Hurricane Harvey up close and personal or even lost relatives or friends might reconsider the wisdom of living in or near a flood plain. They might choose to move somewhere else or to an apartment on the 2nd story somewhere out of range of flooding. Or, they might see the writing on the wall so to speak and move to another area further from the ocean and away from potential 2nd, 3rd or even 4th  Harveys in the future in that locality.

So, staying alive is always refining your process for economic success, physical safety and finding ways not to go bankrupt because you don't have flood insurance and can't get it or afford it.
