The point being that often it is hard "When trying to experience Pure Being" if you are constantly being bombarded by things and people and experiences through your body all the time. So, what usually happens is you wind up in a completely reactionary experience but this might prevent you from experiencing pure being (or a perfect meditational or contemplational space).
So, one method I have always used (especially before I had my own outdoor hot tub spa) was to use what I have always called "Tanking" but really only means you go into a bathroom and fill the bath with water warm or hot (whatever works for you) then you close the door and turn out the lights and be still there. (However, if you are small and the bath is big and you are young you don't want to fall asleep there and drown either).
I had a difficult experience for me once when my youngest daughter fell asleep in the bathtub (even though she didn't drown I felt remiss as her father that I wasn't watching my 4 year old more carefully as she slept with her head floating in the tub. But, in the end all's well that ends well. Luckily she didn't breathe water so it all turned out okay.
But, if you are larger enough than the tub this can work where you turn off the lights carefully and get into the tub. (One way would be to light a candle near the tub and then blow out the candle after you have turned the light switch off) Or you can take a flashlight and place it on the floor next to the bathtub for safety after you turn off the light switch next to the bathtub.
The point is you want to shut out all sensory experiences especially visual and hearing if you can. Then often you can process your thoughts or go into a deep meditation.
Another thing you can do is to do see where all this takes you in processing your thoughts and your life. The point is to find a way forward for you in your life that works for you.
There are many ways to do this but often experiencing a sensory deprivation state might help you move forward in many ways in your life.
It's true there are some people who have suppressed so much that it could also be overwhelming so this might be an issue for some as well.
But, it might be important to know also that you cannot just keep suppressing things that come up out of your subconscious mind forever without serious mental, emotional or even physical consequences.
So, this is something to think about too.
So, a sensory deprivation experience is likely going to work best for people who have been dealing with their issues ongoing in a healthy way all along.
Otherwise, you might just experience and ongoing horror movie of things coming up like in a post PTSD experience.
So, only you can decide if this is going to be helpful to you or not.
However, for me, it allowed me over the years to keep my life on an even keel even during the tough times and it also helped me continue to choose to stay alive rather than to take my life or someone else's along the way.
So, this is a tool to save your own life and other's lives too used properly.
So, if you are in a Suicidal-homicidal place (this is how a psychologist often sees someone suicidal)
Because it is always both not just one thing, you have to find ways to process your feelings so you can stay alive and keep everyone else alive too.
And Tanking as I call it might help you be clear with all this.
I haven't been interested in taking my own life since 1974 because I had my son to raise after that to adulthood so my own selfish wants and needs didn't really matter that much in the overall scheme of things after that.
In becoming an actual father and grandfather I tend to think about others more than myself (since around age 26) so now I often see the whole human race as my children or grandchildren because I'm now a grandfather.
But, tanking by going into a bathtub and turning off the lights and meditating deep helped me through many difficult times and good ones as well along the way.

Note: Some people like to add Epsom Salts to the bath water so your natural salts don't drain out of your body if you plan to tank from 1 to 4 hours on a weekend for example.
However, going to sleep in the bathtub usually isn't a good idea for a variety of reasons, but to each his own.
In going for Pure Being beyond time and space one helpful meditation is to realize all beings were once your mother from the biggest whale to the smallest bacteria or insect to the nearest Tree or plant. In this way one develops compassion for all living things in the universe. It is a Tibetan Buddhist method for Developing compassion. However, if you don't believe in reincarnation this method likely won't be useful to you.
No one can be trusted with powerful supernatural gifts from God until they actually have compassion for all life in the universe anyway like a father or mother or grandfather or grandmother to all life in the universe.
So, let's get started on learning compassion for yourself and all beings in the universe. Because in the future many of us that are gifted will be necessary here on earth. If you live long enough you will understand what I'm saying here in real time.

Many of you reading this likely will be alive hundreds of years into the future. That's just a natural part of what will come from this process of compassion towards yourselves and others.
States of consciousness will be better. You will treat all others and yourselves better. You will tend to eat organic more. You will tend to travel more around the world. You will find yourselves learning new and amazing things. You will tend to continue your education regarding all forms of enlightenment throughout your 100 year plus lifetimes ongoing now into the future. The upper end likely will be 5000 to 10,000 year lifetimes for some of you reading this now. One day at a time.
