I just copied the link commands from HTML and copied over a URL into "Compose" at blogger.com (blogspot) and found that works too. All you have to change is the name you want to name the link in print and make sure you put the new URL in first where it belongs in the command sequence. This worked great too!
Why does this work?
Because both compose and HTML are based upon HTML. The difference is compose is designed to take print and encode for you. But, if you drop the HTML into compose for special things like Links this also works because in the end compose is a specialty HTML type of site that encoders then automatically form HTML type commands from.
