Your beliefs might stay the same or change from day to day depending upon whether your life was in danger or not. Your beliefs might change in the night and be different every day. Imagine being the person that makes up your own personal religion and first starts indoctrinating your children to believe what you believe and to speak the language you have made up?
This actually happened all over the world and for some who are remote enough (if there are any like this still) it is still happening in very remote selective places around the world.
