The Legislative Branch of Government (which is composed of the House of Representatives and the Senate), the Judicial Branch (which is composed of the Supreme Court of the United States) and the Executive which is composed of the President and his appointed staff and his Cabinet of Secretaries of various kinds like Secretary of the Treasury, Secretary of Commerce etc.
These three branches of government are considered to be equally powerful. So, the Legislative branch counteracts the problems from the presidency and the Supreme Court and the Executive counteracts problems of the Legislative and Supreme Court and in the present case of Impeachment of a president like we have now the Legislative and the Supreme Court counteracts criminal activities worldwide of any president like we are seeing now.
But, if you don't know that Constitutionally at least that the Legislative and Supreme Court each have power EQUAL to that of the president then you might be confused as to what is actually going on right now.
The Legislative Branch in the House is counteracting the Dictatorship that Trump is trying to establish in the U.S. Sort of like what Erdogan recently did to his democracy in Turkey by staging his own coup.
The danger right now is that Trump may also stage a coup by grouping soldiers loyal only to him to fight anyone else in our government. This is the real danger right now if we consider the stances already taken by Trump in the past.
The real danger we face is exactly what happened when Hitler took over Germany in the 1930s.
