Because the Courts are closed
Many lawyers are having to lay off people like para-legals and legal secretaries simply because there isn't enough work with courts closed to retain them in these times. I hadn't realized even the legal profession is also impacted in this way nationwide until today. IF they can't pay for themselves (which they can't because the courts are now closed nationwide in many cases) many non-lawyers are being laid off from legal offices nationwide.
