Why?
Everyone on earth has Coronavirus PTSD in one form or another. So, it's important to have compassion for everyone.
One of the stories is my phlebotomist who takes blood about every month or so to make sure my medications are doing the right thing. When coronavirus shut down happened she said to me: "MY whole recreation in life has ended. My husband and I go to concerts primarily and to football games and Basketball games. So, everything we do for fun in that direction is gone!"
For myself, I can't stay in hotels at 72 and feel comfortable about that. I can pay for my son's hotel and his family if I want to see them and meet them in Mt.Shasta because that is 1/2 way between the SF bAy Area and Portland but I can't stay in a Hotel and feel comfortable anymore. I can't go to movies or go inside of restaurants with my wife. I can't fly to Hawaii and feel comfortable about that or fly anywhere on a passenger jet at all and feel comfortable about that. So, spending one week out of 5 in Mt. Shasta or Santa Barbara is less likely now. When I go back to my home in the SF Bay area I often feel like I'm imprisoned there because of the first few months of the California shutdown.
And I'm not alone worldwide. It has taken away the things people like about their lives. My family and friends are all still safe. But, this isn't true for the 164,000 people tested and who have died of coronavirus across the country's families and friends. They all will be scarred for life from those deaths.
So, have compassion for yourselves, your families and your friends and people you meet because we all are suffering in various ways much like during the Great Depression or World War II where the war dead this time are the coronavirus Dead.
Have compassion for yourself and everyone else so we all can come out the other side of this both sane and alive.
