People who are forced as children to believe in things not logical or rational. When the basis of your life is non-rational and non-logical you are vulnerable more to things that go bump in the night.
You have no compass that you can count on and no critical thinking model especially if you haven't been to college where one tends to learn critical thinking the most.
So, let's say you were raised in a Bible Belt as a fundamentalist child and you never left your home town and everyone thought this same way that you ever spoke with in your life then you would be vulnerable to conspiracy theories the most.
Then let's say you had a serious health issue on top of this growing up. You would be likely even more susceptible to conspiracy theories.
If I look back at my own life when I was most vulnerable to conspiracy theories myself it was when I was economically having the hardest time which likely would be around 1990 after returning from Hawaii to California with my family until around 1992 to 1994 when I divorced and remarried. After this time I was no longer vulnerable to conspiracy theories.
So, what causes people to believe in conspiracy theories the most? Hard times and being surrounded by people who are not logical or rational at the time. So, there are no useful logical or rational people around to turn to for counseling or guidance at that time.
Not having logical or rational ideas or thoughts can also easily become fatal because you are not responding to problems in any logical or useful way.
People who believe in conspiracy theories are often one step away from insanity or extremely poor mental and emotional health.
Believing in conspiracy theories is an obvious sign of PTSD like Trump has which got even more extreme in his Narcissistic Personality disorder which cannot be treated and is a permanent mental illness that America and the whole world is suffering through right now because he is a U.S. president.
Believing in Conspiracy theories most of the time one can survive them but not now. Believing in Conspiracy theories now will get you dead through coronavirus (or a member of your family or friends).
So, believing in Conspiracy theories during a pandemic just gets people dead and that's all.
It's natural selection in action which is horrific for all of us to watch as people die left and right for at least the next 2 years here in the U.S.
I figure that by March of 2022 we might see a decrease of deaths from coronavirus begin to happen but likely not much before herd immunity is reached here in the U.S.
So, if you are rational and over 50 please get a flu shot so you don't die of Flu and coronavirus combined sometime in the next 12 months or 24 months time.
