Because 75% of the cities in China are in Covid Omicron Lockdown. If everyone is in lockdown in 75% of the cities in China this means NOTHING much is going to be shipped anywhere on earth (at least from China that is).
This then means that Walmart and Target and Dollar Store and every other retailer that depends heavily on things manufactured or sent from China after being assembled there is in trouble. This may or may not be permanent of course. But, knowing China's history with Russia as allies (IT COULD BE PERMANENT) if China decides to take over Taiwan.
One theory is that Covid Omicron shutdowns are a dry run for exactly that in preparing the Chinese people for when U.S. Sanctions and European and Japanese and South Korean Sanctions hit hard the Chinese people if and when China attacks Taiwan to take it over.
Also, the U.S. cannot allow China to take over the most advanced Microchip makers on earth who are also in China which are about 10 to 20 years in development ahead of anything else on earth (at least until Intel is finished building it's advanced Chip plant in Ohio.
It's not just China that depends upon those really advanced chip makers in Taiwan but also the U.S. and Europe and Australia and New Zealand and literally everyone else on earth.
Without Taiwanese Chips (at least for now) no new cars running, no computers or smartphone running anywhere on earth.
Here's the problem folks: The INTEL 20 Billion dollar investment into Chip manufacturing plant in Ohio won't be finished until at least 2025!
