The problem we were having was that the top of the Generator was getting wet so I moved the generator a little into its plastic shed outside further so it wouldn't short out the generator and make it stop working. The winds were coming from a bad direction for how the plastic shed was set up so there was no easy way to fix this problem. I finally gave up about 4 am and went to bed. However, then I got a phone call from Europe but I think they realized it was 6:30AM here not 3 pm like where they were and quickly hung up and just sent us videos of the snow where they were in Europe in the mountains (the Alps) coming down and on the ground.
Then by 7 am we got generator filled up with gas and started again. The wind had died down at least for now and not much rain is expected to fall until at least noon so we might be okay until then. However, at some point I need to go out to buy more regular Gas.
By the way if you use premium in most gasoline generators you will tend to burn them out or better said burn them out because most gasoline generators are not built to withstand premium gasoline. I found this out the hard way because a few years ago I was keeping Premium in gas cans simply because my motorcycle ran better on Premium but then I burned out a generator I used to have doing this during one of the storms. Then I bought this Yamaha smaller generator but also found someone to repair it at a motorcycle shop. He was telling me that the carburetor jets are so small you need to start it up at least every 2 weeks during the year or else they will clog. So, every 2 weeks I have been having one of our housekeepers help me start it. He owns a janitorial business and used to be an Army Ranger explosives expert when he was younger.
So, anyway the wind has died down enough for the generator hopefully to run in peace without setting off the Carbon monoxide alarm or getting flooded by rain one of the two.
So far so good. and both refrigerators are working and one light and Wifi so far.
Since I'm the only one awake right now I'm going back to bed now at 7:10 AM Christmas Eve.
