Antidynamo theorem
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In physics and in particular in the theory of magnetism, an antidynamo theorem is one of several results that restrict the type of magnetic fields that may be produced by dynamo action. One notable example is Cowling's antidynamo theorem which states that no axisymmetric magnetic field can be maintained by dynamo action. It is also known that two-dimensional magnetic fields are forbidden.
The impact of the known anti-dynamo theorems is that successful dynamos do not possess a high degree of symmetry.

The most important thing I could find on this page was the following quote, "The impact of the known anti-dynamo theorums is that successful dynamos do not possess a high degree of symmetry." end quote. Since the last line quoted is true it makes even more sense that the Geodynamo of Earth would have to have times where poles changed and Geomagnetic excursions happened in order to maintain equilibrium without attaining perfect symmetry which could or would kill or potentially end Geodynamo Earth. So, in order to stay a functioning dynamo which cannot function with perfect symmetry anomalies must sometimes exist in the dynamo to maintain the ongoing electrical magnetic dynamo. And it is my present thought that we are presently in the beginnings of such an anomaly. |
