Flu Map for U.S. now

    1. CDC - Seasonal Influenza (Flu) - Weekly US Map: Influenza ...

Jan 3, 2013 – Situation Update: Summary of Weekly FluView · Overview of Influenza Surveillance in the United States · Current United States Flu Activity Map ...

If you click on the "CDC- ......" button above you will see the present week of flu across the U.S. There is also a button to see how it was last week when you get there. Staying at home might be the best way to avoid contact with anyone who has it in case it is the beginning of a pandemic. The likelihood of a pandemic might be 1 in 10 at this point but if it continues to increase as it has been and spreads worldwide this could all change very quickly. The biggest thing to study likely is how many fatalities it brings. If the fatalities suddenly go up a lot then that might be a sign of a pandemic that could then go worldwide and take out a lot of people. But right now it is the largest flu epidemic in the U.S. for this time of year in 10 years.

      Here is the current situation:

      Current Situation

A pandemic is a global disease outbreak. It is determined by how the disease spreads, not how many deaths it causes.
The United States is not currently experiencing a flu pandemic. If a pandemic occurs, the federal government will work to identify the cause and create a vaccine. Flu.gov will provide updates on the steps the federal government is taking to address the pandemic.
