Ben Affleck, The New Batman
Warner Bros. announced Thursday that Affleck will be the next big name Hollywood star to play the role of Batman on the big screen. He'll star in the still untitled movie expected to be released in the summer of 2015.
Last month at Comic-Con, Warner Bros. announced that the movie would include both Batman and Superman, with Henry Cavill, 30, revising his role as the Man of Steel.
Affleck, 41, recently directed and starred in Argo, playing a superhero of sorts as a CIA officer who single-handedly rescues six U.S. diplomats from Iran in 1979, during the hostage crisis. The movie won the 2012 Academy Award for best picture.
says the new Batman/Superman movie also will star Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane.
