Spirituality simply means that what you are experiencing predates all organized religions. It was here before anything got organized into any culture. It is a sense of the interconnectedness of everything in the universe. It is the understanding that all life, all time and space is your family. It is the natural understanding of the inherent order of the universe beyond all contrived things including all religions.
All religions came after spirituality. Religions are cultural stories to explain spirituality to their adherents.
Religions will never save the world because there will always be different cultures religions that will fight as to what is right and what is wrong.
But spirituality can save the world. Humanitarianism can save the world. But, no one religion ever can because of the inherent cultural norms of any religion. Religions in the end break us into pieces like, "If you don't exactly believe this then you should die or be excluded from existence". This type of breakdown only kills civilization in the end even though it might help individual civilizations it destroys the one civilization that the human race is upon the earth.
I am not against any religions because they tend to civilize the world and children. However, when any religion tries to be the only religion on earth it will eventually fail. It is not in the interests of the human race for any one religion to triumph over all the others. If that ever happened we would definitely live in 1984 the book.
Only through spirituality and freedom of thought can the Human race become all that it can be. Without freedom of thought to think as we choose we will only become biological robots and nothing more.
