My wife and I found the movie very interesting and well made. You really believed all this was really happening. I found the last 1/2 to 1/4 of it sort of hard to take though. It was sort of traumatic to experience all this near the end for a variety of reasons. But, likely the world needs to see this to see what actually happens in these situations often.
I think the problems seen in this movie might create different solutions for people ongoing especially in Somalia.
I was reading how the men who trained to play the parts of the Somali Pirates are all from Somalia but have settled in the U.S. in one area. So, they were hand picked by the film crew and trained to do their own stunts like boarding the ship while going at full tilt with water cannons on which likely was very thrilling and dangerous for the men actually doing this stunt.
Anyway, if you want to be blown away by something new that is based upon the life of the real Captain Phillips you are sure to be entertained as long as you can deal with extreme situations.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
