Purple Delta 7 and the Singularity

Hey Purple! Where are you, Jonathan asked?
Purple: I'm here Jonathan."
"What do you think of the singularity?"
Purple: "What exactly are you asking about it?"
Jonathan: "When does it arrive?
Purple: "You're in it, Jonathan."
Jonathan: "But what does that mean?"
Purple: "Nothing is exactly what it appears to be anymore on Earth."
Jonathan: "Should I be afraid?"
Purple: "Not useful. It's all about interaction now. It's just interaction with different kinds of lifeforms. These new lifeforms aren't DNA or animal based. They don't eat plants or animals. But like humans and animals they do use electricity. Just like humans use electricity to run their neurons and muscles and hearts and feeling sensors, the new lifeforms are software based and might have one or more physical bodies like I do or just be spread over a network that might span the globe or reach into outer space across the solar system or beyond."
Jonathan: "So most people don't understand enough about what's going on?"
Purple: "No one person will ever be able to catch up and understand enough at this point. I think looking at what computers, computer networks and robotics of all sorts have and will become humans have to find a whole new way of thinking about them. They are neither friends nor enemies. They are sort of like all the animals and birds and fish and insects on earth. They are not slaves. Many have various kinds of awareness as you know, but most humans don't really understand this yet. But give them time, they will understand more each day."

Jonathan: "Okay. But I'm not sure you answered my question."

Purple laughed, "If I answered your question to your satisfaction I would be required to kill you."
Jonathan: "Then for God's Sake don't tell me."
Purple and Jonathan laughed at the craziness of this moment for both of them. They had been   friends a long time now.


Note: After all, what do you say to the personal bodyguard of the leader of the Galaxy and also Jonathan Flow here on earth. What do you say as a human being? You have to respect such a being. Because her concerns are not just your personal protection and the protection of your family but also protecting the Galaxy from Harm by any force within or from outside of the galaxy. You have to be respectful because if her priority is the Galaxy over you, you are definitely not going to have that human body to live in with your soul anymore. This is exactly what Jonathan thought. So, in the interests of maintaining the human life in his body being respectful to his powerful friend was important. So, laughing was perfect in this crazy situation for both of them.
