First of all, no one wins a Cold War.
So, you might ask why do we fight a Cold War?
Because fighting a Cold War is better than turning the Earth into another Asteroid Belt.
And we are now in the 2nd Cold War or "A continuation of the first one 23 years later (depending upon your opinion).
Imagine we are in olden times and we have two armies and we decide to choose champions to decide the battle for us. So, when one of them dies (the armies may or may not slaughter each other).
But, instead of Armies choosing a champion we use little countries to have proxy wars in instead of blowing up the whole world.
I was born when the Cold War had already started in 1948 and I was 43 when it ended. It was the craziest war I ever read about in history and I lived through it and everyone else did too my age.
Think about this for a moment: No one ever can win a Cold War but everyone on earth including all humans, animals, birds, fish, insects can lose within 24 hours when the planet comes apart the oceans go out into space, the atmosphere goes out into space and everything dies permanently and goes extinct. And pieces of the planet become asteriods of the kind that sometimes hit earth like the one that hit the Gulf of Mexico 65 million years ago and killed all the dinosaurs within a couple of years.
My first memories of the last one were the Korean War and when I started public school having to crawl under my desk in preparation for trying to survive a nuclear blast. Basically, as a very practical boy my thoughts went something like this: "So, were supposed to crawl under our desks, but what happens when we all melt into dust just before our classroom turns to dust and blows away?" So, I sort of thought the teachers were pretty stupid because NO ONE survives a direct nuclear blast ever. (Not even Indiana Jones in a lead lined Refrigerator) (By the way he wouldn't have been able to open it when he flew through the air with it, nor likely could he have fitted in it or survived what he went through in it).
So, Cold War is a war so we don't have to survive nuclear blasts between nations. Mostly because, if one side sends one nuclear weapon, then the other side sends two, then the first side sends 10, then the other side sends 100 (you get the idea) then both sides arm their Doomsday Weapons which kill everyone on earth.
Doomsday weapons and the U.S., Russia, China, and likely Germany, France, England, India and Pakistan and possibly even North Korea has them are for killing every single one of your enemy so none are left alive. What that does is at the very least extinct every human being on earth and likely anything else that is still alive too.
So, a Cold War is when nations are doing things that are really pissing each other off but they don't want to nuke the whole planet out of existence.
This is why the U.S. and Europe aren't sending cannons and tanks into Syria or Ukraine because they don't want this to escalate into something that ends life on earth.
So, when people are angry at Obama I usually think they are under about 40 years of age, because anyone older than that should know exactly why Obama is doing exactly what he is doing to avoid "THE END OF ALL LIFE ON EARTH".
So, people who don't understand this need to get better educated about what is actually going on here.
Any sane person would call what Putin is doing "Crazy". It flies in the face of all Cold War rules.
It is sort of like someone playing Chicken like boys used to do in the 1950s. They would drive towards a cliff overlooking the ocean in old cars. The object of the game was to be the last person to jump out of their old car before those cars went off the cliff into the ocean. The problem with this is sometimes people died because they waited too long to jump out or their door wouldn't open or they got caught on something inside the car and couldn't get out in time and they died going over the cliff with the car.
Sane people view Putin in this way all over earth right now. So, Putin is engaging Europe and the U.S. in a game of chicken but a mistake now ends life on earth. This is the problem.
I searched wikipedia and they don't have a "2nd Cold War" listed yet. So, here is my quote on the First Cold War: just click on the following button to read it.
The first Cold War
The last two really crazy people with this much power were Stalin and Hitler who used it this way. Some people might call Putin "Crazy like a Fox". The problem with this for me is:
"These are famous last words for the end of all life on earth".
The way this presently is all going is "out of control".
Obama, being a logical calculating man knows it's out of control.
WTF is Putin thinking?
And are we all going to go over the cliff in our cars?
