Seattle Waterfront areas like near Pike's market and the Aquarium not safe after dark
This statement is a no brainer for people who actually live here in Seattle. However, it was a little disconcerting during dinner at about 5:30 to hear one of the touring ducks that drive people around and into the water (with about 50 people on board) talk loudly about how this area wasn't safe after dark. Last night we got room service and had some food delivered and the man said this was true. And that it is a problem because of drug deals and all sorts of illegal things that happen down there after dark there in that part of the city. So, it was confirmed as true by a local in addition to hearing it from a Duck's loudspeaker as it drove by with a load of tourists on board.
