Turkey is a Sunni Governed nation just like Saudi Arabia, Jordan and many other Arab governments in the middle east like Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria and others.
However, they don't like the Kurds in Turkey and consider the Kurds a threat to their government in Turkey.
So, Turkey going into Syria and Iraq could have different results than you might expect because of their problems with the Kurds in Turkey wanting to start their own government there or in Syria or Iraq.
So, though Turkey might wipe ISIS off the map with it's army it also might wipe Kurds off the map so to speak to.
On top of this Turkey is a well funded NATO nation. So, if Turkey is worried while fighting ISIS they might call on their NATO agreements to bring all NATO nations into the fight there in Syria and IRaq. However, most European nations don't want to do this because they want to save their money in case they have to fight Putin in europe if he keeps taking nations over there.
