The laws in Missouri protect Police officers in cases like the Brown case there. So, there was no real way for the Grand Jury to prosecute the Police officer there. So, the two problems of Ferguson are extreme poverty of that area and not enough jobs or black owned businesses but also the actual laws of the state are what burned down those businesses and torched those cars and other violence.
Not seeing the laws of the state of Missouri as the problem and not just the police officer that shot an unarmed fugitive multiple times is the real problem will only lead to more business and home and car burnings as well as more and even potentially increased violence there and other places in the U.S. and around the world because of this.
It is true that laws are not easily changed. However, it should be seen that if those laws don't better protect underprivileged Black men and women and children that violence is only going to keep growing over the years there. This likely is inevitable.
