Once again, seeing the movie "Fury" which is a true story out of World War II I could see quite clearly that wars tend to dehumanize and depopulate mankind. Any that survive wars after having been on the front lines as civilians or fighters are never the same. People on the front lines of a war who survive in some ways don't really survive wars because in a way they are all maimed for life by their experiences. I remember when people talked about this more like during the Viet Nam War and after, how their lives ended during that war. In some ways the Viet Nam War was the most public war in the way it was conducted. On TV we watched our soldiers die, watched the caskets with American Flags on them come home from that war every day. Since then war has been sanitized, sort of like how the public is prevented here in the U.S. from seeing dead human bodies on the streets so people sort of live in a fantasyland sort of like Disneyland where dead bodies really don't exist in their minds.
However, without the reality of death every day in people's minds wars become possible anytime anywhere. Without the draft to show young men and women what war really is, war becomes more and more of a possibility.
And now, as war becomes more and more conducted by drones and robots in the air, on land and sea, I fear war becomes even more like Disneyland with no reality touching the developed nations of the world at all. And in this constant wars become inevitable because of this completely unrealistic point of view of the general public.
To understand what I'm talking about actually see some movies like "Fury", "Platoon", "The Longest Day" which are actual true stories about wars in World War II and Viet Nam.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
