Imagine a scenario where all oil suddenly cost 10 times or even 4 times what it does now?
What if it stayed like that for one year or more?
The result likely would be a reduction of about 1 to 2 billion people on planet earth.
What happens if all oil suddenly stopped today or tomorrow?
Within 1 year it is likely that 6 billion people on earth would have starved to death or died protecting their resources from other desperate people.
This is the reality that we all live with today.
6 of the 7 billion people are ONLY alive because of oil.
Understanding this makes people a lot more realistic about the present and future.
