The Brink reminds me a little of "Dr. Strangelove"
If you took Dr. Strangelove and updated it to today and then based it not only in Washington DC but also in Pakistan and other points around the world you get a very vague idea of what "The Brink" is like now on HBO, only it's in 1/2 hour segments instead of a couple of hours like in a movie. But, either way, it is quite entertaining so far after seeing the Pilot Sunday night. Also, you can see it in color and in HD which is nice too. (because Dr. Strangelove was made in the 1960s and is now considered a cult classic and is often shown at colleges to demonstrate what people were like in the 1960s in regard to paranoia between nations regarding nuclear weapons. The Brink is very funny too.
