Well. Now I've seen 6 episodes of "The Bastard Executioner" and I find it the single most interesting thing to watch this year on TV so far.
What attracts me to this mostly is the executioners visions. He is tortured by having to torture and kill people because he is actually a knight that was betrayed. So, though he is very skilled at killing people in any situation, the time is the early 1400s in Wales. Wales was conquered in History by Longshanks (remember Wallace of Scotland) same era. Only he also conquered Wales too. So, these are Welsh people trying to get back their country from the English.
episode 5 was the first episode my wife and I saw and maybe it is the single best episode I've seen so far that made us love this series. Sometimes it is a bit bloody when people are tortured or have their heads or noses or other parts of their body cut off, so sometimes I walk out of the room or fast forward through these parts if I don't want to see this. But, watching the Baroness and the Executioner's love for one another grow is pretty interesting. They both have secrets from the other because there are many twists and turns in both their lives. However, so far, the series is the most interesting new series I have found so far this year on Cable TV.
If you've missed the first 6 episodes and have a DVR see which ones you can find during the week. If you can't find the first 5 now look at Amazon Prime where you can see the first 5 for I think about 1.99 each or 2.99 for HD if you are interested. Also, for that price I think you own those episodes and can view them more times if you want or others in your family can view them too.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
