Ling Rinpoche

I and my family (wife and three older children) "MET" Ling Rinpoche in early 1986 in Dharmsala, India. A friend of mine named Thubten, who was presently a mountain climbing guide, had been a Gelukpa Monk until his parents needed financial help and care in passing on, was given permission for us to meet him. We had no idea what was going on at the time other than Thubten saying, "You are being given a very special privilege, come with me".  As we walked towards the mountains out of Dharamsala towards nearby 20,000 foot snow capped peaks I wondered what all this was about as did my family? Then we saw finally a little slate topped Stone house. We were led into this remote house and on a table sat Ling Rinpoche. He was in a Maitreya Teaching mudra pose and was not moving or talking. I asked the Monks caring for him if he was coming back from this meditation and they said, "No". This likely was the most remarkable experience of my life. About 6 months before my own father had passed away so this experience affected me very deeply. As an intuitive I experienced Ling Rinpoche sending back the "Heaven Realms" to us through his Aura in his body. I was so moved I was brought to tears and had to go outside and cry. I realized he was not dead and was blessing us with this visit from Heaven. This profoundly changed me realizing in this lifetime what one man could actually do.

Kyabje Yongdzin Ling Rinpoche (1903 - 1983[1]) was a Tibetan buddhist scholar and teacher.
Born in Tibet, northwest of Lhasa,[1] he was recognised as the 6th Ling Trül, became the senior tutor to the 14th Dalai Lama[2] and the 97th Ganden Tripa.[2] The Ganden Tripa is the spiritual head of the Gelugpa Sect, the largest sect of Tibetan Buddhism. Kyabje Ling Rinpoche was the Ganden Tripa for about 14 years. He served at the request of the 14th Dalai Lama and the Tibetan people for the longest period that anyone sat on the Ganden throne. Together with Yongdzin Trijang Rinpoche, he is considered to be a root guru of the 14th Dalai Lama. Kyabje Ling Rinpoche died in 1983.[2]
Prior to Kyabje Ling Rinpoche, three earlier incarnations of Ling Rinpoche were tutors for previous Dalai Lamas,[3] including the 13th, the 12th and the 6th Dalai Lamas.[3] Three incarnations of Ling Rinpoche were also Ganden Tripas. Over many years, the Ling Rinpoche incarnations founded many monasteries in Tibet and taught students in every sect of Tibetan Buddhism. Many of the monks in Ling Khangtsen come from these monasteries.
The current incarnation of Ling Rinpoche is the spiritual head and leader of Ling Khangtsen.[3] He was born in India in 1985[3] and is studying at Drepung Loseling Monastic University, Mungod, Karnataka.[3] He is known as Ling Choktul Rinpoche.[3]
