I have lived in Southern California from 1952 until 1976. Raining fire from the sky is when wind is so high the fire jumps sometimes blocks at a time which is when it is most likely that civilians and firefighters die and when homes burn up. Now days in order to prevent deaths firefighters and civilians are usually evacuated so no one dies in these types of conditions.

Fanned by scorching heat, windy conditions and a five-year drought, a

Southern and Central parts of the state.
