Didn't blog today because I had to drive to San Francisco to pick up my older daughter who flew in from overseas. My younger daughter drove home from San Francisco 2 days ago from college there.
My son has to be at work on Monday so it wasn't practical for he and his family to come home for Christmas from far overseas. So, we have had to do without him and his wife and my grandson for Christmas for the last 3 years even though I have visited them on two fall seasons in 2014 and 2014 and my wife went with me in 2015. So, by the time I got back from the airport I needed a nap and so though I wanted to blog I wound up napping. Then a friend came over to share a Christmas eve dinner with us.
We all deal with the Ghosts of Christmas past when relatives and friends were still alive and kicking.
But, Christmas now is about those still alive like me and my wife and my children getting together to celebrate Christmas. Things change people are born and people pass away. It's the way life is.
However, I have always been one to choose life over death so I choose to celebrate Christmas with my family and some friends. This seems to be the best choice always.
Merry Christmas!
One thing I have thought about some this Christmas is why we say "Merry Christmas" instead of "Happy Christmas" because "Merry" is a much more English used word but "Happy" as in "Happy Birthday" is more of an American word in how it is used a lot here. So, why do we say "Merry Christmas" but the English in England say "Happy Christmas" So, what's up with that?
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
