However, most people now just work a week or two at their job and then buy an airline ticket to anywhere on earth instead.
However, becoming enlightened while not participating in physical warfare isn't a bad idea in these times too. IN this way at least some people become enlightened without getting PTSD and all their limbs or head blown off from warfare whether that be with an army, Navy or air force somewhere on earth.
In this way the enlightenment of all beings on earth is served and these people don't become physical casualties of warfare or police work here on earth.
Each of us has our place. Some are natural warriors and wouldn't be interested in becoming fully enlightened. Then there are people like Saint Francis of Assisi who started out as a Knight for his town in Italy and then became enlightened through his PTSD into becoming a Saint So Big that places like San Francisco were named after him.
So, whether you are a warrior or not, there are spiritual warriors too always. And they fight for the sanity of mankind by attaining enlightenment so that others can follow them and help prevent the extinction of all life on earth now and into the future.
There are many ways to become enlightened and in times like this worldwide. Some retreat to the wilderness to prepare for what naturally might be coming just like people also did this in the 1930s and 1940s often too.
My father chartered a yacht and went to Tahiti and the Tuamotu archipelago in 1939 with his first wife and brother and didn't come back until 1941 to Seattle. Then because he had already served in the U.S. Marine corp Reserves from 1934 until 1937 on Hellcat biplanes as a gunner he was hired to build LIberty ships along with his older brother who had also served in the Marine Corp during the same time period and to electrically wire them all during World War II as a necessary war skill to carry munitions and food to soldiers especially in the Pacific theater of the war.
So, even though it looks very bad with things like we see in the Middle East and now the Philippines if you are wise you still should pursue your "Path to enlightenment" whatever it is.
So, you are not one of the dead or the "Walking Wounded" at the end of this cycle
"Whenever that is".
By God's Grace
Note:
This is my favorite movie of Saint Francis and his life story going from war, to PTSD to recovery and finally to sainthood.

It appears (in present day) that one cannot watch this movie for free unless one either has a copy of it already in either a digital copy or a DVD or VHS or something like that. However, I was able to watch the preview which is very well done which also gives you the general idea of his life for free which is about 3 minutes and 44 seconds long I believe.-
