The House with a Clock in Its Walls (2018)

I enjoyed this movie a lot and saw it with my wife and friends. It's a good Halloween Romp which is mostly funny but at times scary too. But, I don't think it's really going to scare too many kids over about 8 years of age. Mostly, it reminds me in some ways of Lemony Snicket and Harry Potter in some respects too in this kind of direction. It's about a 10 year old boy whose parents die so he moves in with his Uncle (Jack Black) who is a Warlock in a sort of scary house that is sort of alive and a lazy boy chair that walks or moves around the house too. Cate Blanchett has an unusual relationship with Jack Black and is a witch that is supposed to be more powerful than Jack Black is. But Jack Black sort of protects her too. She lives next door.
