Since the Saddleridge fire looks like (as of right now) that it started from electrical lines owned by SCE it could bankrupt SCE (the liability) like it did P, G &E from the Paradise Fire. So, power companies shutting down all power lines vulnerable in high winds might be a more and more normal thing (at least for California) in the near and far future.
However, there was a 2 to 3 billion dollar loss in things like perishable Food and business from shutting down power to Northern California and places like Santa Maria in Southern California by P,G &E. So, as people try to sue P, G & E and now SCE for Damages from both scenarios likely we will see how the legal battle goes on all fronts as to how these things will play out in the future, not just in California but also throughout the U.S. and eventually around the world in situations like these.
Also, wherever the power was shut down Microwave towers used by Cell phones and smartphones also were shut down in the outage. So, people couldn't even report mishaps or dangers in these areas while power was shut off either so people could also be dying from no cell phone towers as well in situations like these as well.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
